How it works

All plants utilize the system of photosynthesis to live. The 3 elements a plant needs to photosynthesize are water, C02, and Light. Plants get the majority of their nutrients from the soil they are planted in, with supplemental nutrition in the form of fertilizer. Along with being structurally sound to offer support the RÜTaround feeding tube makes watering and feeding a breeze. RÜTaround grow systems deliver water and nutrients to where plants need them, the root system. Plants uptake the vast majority of their water and nutrients (either soil or supplemental water-soluble fertilizer) through their roots, by delivering these essential compounds directly to the roots we ensure your plant gets what it needs to thrive. As the RÜTaround system is semi-permanent there is no root damage when using it as the roots grow around it until the end of the growing season when it can be cleaned and stored for next season.

Taste, texture and juiciness

When it comes to vegetables, taste, texture, and juiciness are crucial factors that can be enhanced through proper care. While the genetics and variety of the vegetables play a significant role in determining their taste, there are ways to improve it. After all, we grow vegetables for their delicious flavor and taste. It can be frustrating when after harvesting a fine-looking tomato, it turns out to be tasteless or lacking in juiciness. This is where RÜTaround can help. RÜTaround ensures that your plants receive the full benefits of fertilizer and water by delivering them where they are needed. This helps in achieving the correct dilution rate of fertilizer and avoiding under or over-watering, resulting in a bountiful and flavorful harvest of juicy tomatoes.

Watering and Fertilizing

A common problem we hear a lot in the gardening world is regarding tomato, veggie, and flower success. This is despite people ensuring us that they have used enough water and followed the manufacturer's recommendations for fertilizing. However, what most people do not realize is the way the water and fertilizer are delivered is essential. When watering traditionally, i.e. pouring water from a hose, a watering can, and even rain you may think you are giving the plant enough. However, a significant amount of water is lost by hitting the foliage and not the root system. The water that does hit the ground tends to absorb, then very quickly starts to pool and runoff, not going to the roots and irrigating dormant weed seeds. The water that does get through has to filter through mulches and/or fabric and also the soil itself. These negative effects are also true with water-soluble fertilizers. Not only is this wasteful, but it harms the environment and the pocketbook. As the water is developed deep this aids in root development by encouraging deeper and stronger roots.

Soil health and plant health

When we traditionally water plants, we tend to pour water from a height, which can be an inefficient method. Water that hits the soil from a height can lead to soil compaction, which  can inhibit the necessary gas exchanges. Additionally, water that pools on the surface can attract pests and pathogens, causing health issues for the plant. Underwatering or under- fertilizing can also result in weaker plants and lower yields. To address these concerns, the RÜTaround system delivers water and food directly underground, which helps mitigate soil compaction, promotes healthier root systems, and eliminates saturation pools that attract pests and pathogens. Moreover, the system ensures that water and food are delivered where they are needed, avoiding water on foliage and providing the best possible chance for plant health. By delivering fertilizer directly to the roots, the RÜTaround system maximizes blooms and yields for a bountiful harvest.

Other benefits

Upon completion of our RÜTaround design, we made some surprising discoveries about its features and benefits. Firstly, the RÜTaround is universally compatible with any water-soluble fertilizer, allowing users to continue using their preferred brand. The top of the RÜTaround water/feed tube features a funnel design, making it adaptable to various watering methods, including watering cans, hose nozzles and wands, and hose-end applicators. Moreover, the funnel also serves as a rain catcher and, due to its height, enables people with limited mobility to water their plants more conveniently. Additionally, the feed tube contributes to the structural strength of the cage, providing greater support to plants. In summary, the key benefits of the RÜTaround are its compatibility with different fertilizers, versatility in watering methods, rain-catching potential, accessibility, and structural reinforcement.
